HUM18LE-63 RCBO Breaker – 10kA Protection Against Overcurrent & Earth Leakage

The HUM18LE-63 RCBO Breaker provides 10kA of overcurrent protection and earth leakage detection. This breaker will provide protection from electric shock, equipment insulation failure, and fire caused by ground faults. The HUM18LE-63 from HUYU has a breaking capacity of 10kA Icu/ 7.5kA Ics, residual current detection between 30mA and 300mA with seven different sensitivity settings, and a choice of five pole configurations for the circuit (from 1P + N to 4P). It is certified to IEC 61009-1, has CCC and RoHS approvals, and is therefore suitable for an application in China or any international project.

A unique feature of the HUM18LE-63 is the Type AC/A residual current option. With Type AC, there is detection of standard sinusoidal leakage associated with residential load situations (lighting, socket outlets, fixed appliances). With Type A, detection for pulsing dc leakage associated with rectified circuits is provided, thereby making the RCBO a good choice for circuits supplying electronic equipment, switching power supplies, and appliances with an inverter-type drive. The 10kA breaking capacity provides a greater margin of safety than the 6kA breaking capacity standard to most RCBOs for commercial and industrial sub-distribution systems, where prospective fault currents are greater than in residential applications. If you are currently purchasing RCBOs from Schneider, ABB, Chint, Hager, Eaton, Siemens, Legrand, or Havells, you should investigate the HUM18LE-63’s factory-direct OEM/ODM pricing with full CCC/RoHS/IEC documentation, as it would make a practical addition to your current protection product stand-alone.

OEM/ODM Supply – A 10kA RCBO Breaker for Global Distribution

HUM18LE-63 – Built for Markets That Demand CCC and RoHS

If you supply the Chinese domestic market or export to regions requiring China Compulsory Certification, the HUM18LE-63 carries CCC alongside RoHS environmental compliance — two certifications that many competing RCBOs from European brands do not hold. Combined with IEC 61009-1 compliance and a 10kA breaking capacity, this RCBO breaker meets both the regulatory and technical requirements of a wide range of projects. For distributors currently stocking Schneider, ABB, Chint, Hager, Eaton, Siemens, Legrand, or Havells RCBOs, the HUM18LE-63 provides a factory-direct alternative with Type AC/A residual current options across seven sensitivity ratings. Private labeling, custom packaging, and full CCC/RoHS/IEC test reports are standard for volume partners.

10kA Icu: Higher fault protection than standard 6kA RCBOs.
Type AC + A: Covers standard and rectified loads.
CCC + RoHS: Mandatory for China market access.
7 IΔn Options: 30mA to 300mA from one product family.

How to Choose an RCBO Breaker – Current, Sensitivity, Type & Application

A practical guide to selecting the correct HUM18LE-63, plus how it compares to other HUYU protection products.

HUM18LE-63 RCBO Tripping Curve B C D
HUM18LE-63 Tripping Characteristic Curve (Type B, C, D)

1. Choosing the Current Rating

The HUM18LE-63 spans 6A to 63A in nine standard steps. Lighting: 6A or 10A. Socket outlets: 16A or 20A. Kitchen appliances and air conditioning: 25A or 32A. Electric showers, cookers, and sub-main feeds: 40A to 63A. The terminal capacity of 25mm² with 2.0 N·m torque accommodates the largest conductor sizes required at 63A, so installation is never limited by the device.

2. Selecting the Residual Current (IΔn)

30mA is the standard for personal shock protection — required on socket circuits and in wet areas. 100mA suits circuits where equipment earth leakage is naturally higher, such as commercial kitchen appliances or IT equipment clusters. 300mA is typically used for fire protection on sub‑main feeds or as a main incoming RCBO. The intermediate options — 50, 75, 150, and 200mA — allow fine‑tuning where standard 30/100/300mA steps do not match the installation conditions.

3. Type AC or Type A?

Type AC detects sinusoidal earth leakage — the standard choice for circuits with resistive and motor loads only. Type A extends coverage to pulsating DC leakage components produced by rectifier circuits, inverters, and switch‑mode power supplies. If the circuit feeds electronic equipment, LED drivers, or appliances with variable‑speed motors, specify Type A. The HUM18LE-63 offers both in the same product family, so you do not need to switch suppliers for Type A circuits.

4. Which HUYU Product Fits Your Project?

HUYU Electric offers multiple RCBO breaker series to match different project requirements. The EXB3LE-63 (6kA, CB/CE) suits standard residential and commercial circuits. The EXB3LY-63 (6kA, 1P+N) is purpose‑built for single‑phase consumer units. The HUM18LE-63 (10kA, CCC/RoHS, Type AC/A) is the choice for projects in China, for installations with higher fault currents, and for circuits requiring Type A residual current detection. If you only need overcurrent protection without earth leakage, the MCB range — HUM18-63 (10kA), EXB3-63 (6kA, 7 accessories), HUM17-40 (40A), and HUM18-80 (80A) — covers standard final circuit protection across all common ratings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the RCBO breaker?

An RCBO breaker — Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent — is a single device that integrates an MCB and an RCD. It protects a circuit against overcurrent (overload and short circuit) and earth leakage (residual current). Rather than installing a separate RCD to protect a bank of MCBs in a consumer unit, each circuit gets its own RCBO, so a fault on one circuit does not interrupt power to the entire board. The HUM18LE-63 adds a 10kA breaking capacity and Type AC/A residual current detection to this standard RCBO function.

What is the difference between RCBO and RCCB?

An RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker) detects earth leakage only — it provides no overcurrent or short-circuit protection. An RCCB must be paired with a separate MCB or fuse on each circuit it protects. An RCBO combines both functions. The HUM18LE-63 is an RCBO: it detects earth leakage and provides overcurrent protection in one device. For circuits where only residual current detection is needed and overcurrent protection is provided elsewhere, an RCCB may be sufficient; for individual circuit protection, an RCBO is the complete solution.

What is the difference between RCBO and GFCI?

A GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) is the North American term for a device that detects ground faults and disconnects the circuit — broadly equivalent to an RCD in IEC terminology. It does not include overcurrent protection. An RCBO combines ground fault (earth leakage) protection and overcurrent protection in a single device. The HUM18LE-63 is equivalent to having both a GFCI and a circuit breaker in one DIN‑rail‑mounted unit, compliant with IEC 61009-1 rather than UL standards.

Which is better MCB or RCBO?

Neither is “better” in absolute terms — they serve different purposes. An MCB protects against overcurrent (overload and short circuit). An RCBO does everything an MCB does, plus it protects against earth leakage. For socket circuits and circuits in wet areas, wiring regulations mandate earth leakage protection, so an RCBO is required — an MCB alone would not comply. For circuits that only need overcurrent protection and are already covered by an upstream RCD, an MCB is sufficient. The HUM18LE-63 is an RCBO; for MCB-only applications, HUYU Electric offers the HUM18 and EXB3 series.
